Belk Charity Days Fundraiser
Belk Charity Days sale is coming
up on November 6, 2011. As a
participating non-profit
organization, Belk gives us the
opportunity to raise money for
the PTSO by selling $5 tickets
to the 4 hour private shopping
event. The PTSO is allowed to
keep ALL the ticket sales
proceeds. In addition we get a
percentage of the tickets
actually redeemed at the sale.
Each ticket not only gives
access to the event, but is also
worth $5 off on a purchase!
Everyone wins!
Tickets can be sold by members
to friends and family, but we
also have the opportunity to
sell tickets to Belk customers
inside the entrance during
certain times. Volunteers are
really needed to fill two hour
time slots sitting at the
Charity Days table to sell
tickets on the following days:
Friday 10/21 2pm-4pm
Sunday 10/23 2pm-4pm
Thursday 10/27 4pm-6pm
Friday 10/28 2pm-4pm
Sunday 10/30 2pm-4pm
Thursday 11/3 4pm-6pm
Friday 11/4 2pm-4pm
This is an easy way to help raise
money for the PTSO. Please reply to
this email or contact Steve
Blankenburg at 252-256-1569 if you
can help.
Bloodmobile Help
As a part of our mission to support
student groups, clubs and activities at
FFHS we have been asked to provide a few
adults to help the LEO Club with a Blood
Drive on Wednesday October 26.
Volunteers are needed between 9 am and
2:30pm. Please reply to this email or
contact Amy Smith at
mazsmith@charter.net
if you can help.
PTSO Programs
We have a few needs for help with
specific programs the PTSO runs. These
include helping coordinate the This I
Believe Arts Competition, volunteering
to help sell concessions at the Forum
events, helping to find community
sponsors for the PTSO and working on a
publicity and a quarterly newsletter.
Please reply directly to this email if
you are interested - we could really use
your help.
PTSO News
Board Meetings
Monthly Board meetings are held
every first Tuesday at 8:30am in the
Media Center at school. Next
meeting is November 7. All are
welcome to attend to listen and
participate!
Spirit Walk
The Annual Spirit Walk was a great
success despite being postponed by
weather and mosquitoes! All
students walked during Homecoming
Week to experience the immediate
benefits of moderate outdoor
activity. In addition, students
raised over $1200 with sponsorships.
The freshman class won the
challenge award with over 30
sponsorships, the sophomores came in
second, with only 1 less! Thank you
to all volunteers who helped during
the Spirit Walk.
Good Apple Award
The September Good Apple Award went
to Mr. Brandon Harris. The Good
Apple Award is awarded once a month
based on student voting. Students
are asked to recognize teachers who
have gone that extra step to help
students at FFHS. Voting for the
October award will take place during
the last week in October.
Membership
We currently have approximately 80
parent members and about 85 faculty
memberships which represents about
90% of faculty and 15% of parents.
Please encourage people you know to
join the PTSO - we parents would
like to get a little closer to the
faculty percentage!! Membership
forms are located in the front
office and at our website:
nighthawksptso.com. They can be
turned in to the front office.
