PTSO Grants Awarded - Your Money
Hard At Work!!!
At the October Board Meeting, PTSO
awarded over $600 in grants to
support teacher and student
activities. To Date the PTSO has
funded the following:
Welcome Back Breakfast and Lunch
for Teachers in August
Odyssey of the Mind Membership
Dues
New covers for the couches in
the Senior Lounge
Meal expenses for China
Partnership visitors
Homecoming Tailgate Party for
All Students (free refreshments
and activities)
Joint Carpentry and EC project
to construct recycling centers
for the Football Field
Poetry Out Loud Competition
Expenses and Registration
Discovery Science Program
The FFHS PTSO sets aside a percentage of its annual budget to
award grants to teachers or other school personnel. The PTSO
will consider the need for the funds and other potential sources
for the funds requested. Generally, the PTSO tries to support
activities that will have the most positive impact on the
highest number of students. In addition, particular goals of
each year’s PTSO Board may receive priority in funding.
The PTSO Board meets twice a year in October and March to
consider requests for funds. Deadlines for requests are October
1 and March 15. Emergency requests will be handled on a case by
case basis only if sufficient funds are available in the PTSO
budget. If emergency requests are made, please plan on paying
the expense and if approved, the PTSO will reimburse you.
1. Please fill out the attached form in full, adding
additional pages, if necessary. If you would like to be
present at a PTSO meeting to present your proposal in
person, please let the President or Co-President know.
2. Please provide a detailed budget for the request,
including all items to be funded by the PTSO and all
other items, if other funding is sought. Please indicate
if in-kind donations of any items will meet your needs
or if volunteer assistance is needed.
3. Please explain the purpose for the funds
requested. The PTSO grant funds are limited. The PTSO
Board’s decisions on funding are guided by the positive
impact of the funds on students and teachers. In your
explanation, please indicate the benefits the funds will
likely produce and number of students who are likely to
benefit, either directly or indirectly.
