The PTSO Spirit Walk Fundraiser will be held during Homecoming
Week.
The Walk will take place each day during 2nd period.
Students will be asked to obtain a minimum of one sponsor for
$5.00 to receive a chance for a door
prize. We need volunteers to escort students from the
classrooms to the football field. We need volunteers to staff
the table that will be set up each morning for students to turn
in their money. We need to begin soliciting prize donations and
corporate sponsorships now.
Students are also asked
to obtain $5 sponsorships to benefit the PTSO.
Classes and
students compete for Spirit Points and prizes awarded for
participation and number of sponsorships. Please consider
sponsoring your student and asking your friends and family
to do the same (you can purchase as many sponsorships as you
like!). You or your business can also become a corporate
sponsor. The more support we have from our fundraiser, the
more we can do to support our students!
The PTSO will sponsor the popular Spirit Walk during Homecoming
Week, September 26-30. Spirit Walk will let us all see how easy
and fun it is to add 20-30 minutes of moderate activity to the
day. Spirit Walk also is a way for you to give back to your
school community by supporting the PTSO and its programs. Spirit
Walk is the PTSOs main fundraiser for the year.
The best part of Spirit Walk is that you can earn Spirit Points
for your class AND a chance for prizes, like an electric guitar,
a surfboard and gift certificates to local businesses.
During Homecoming week, each second period class will walk to
the football field and around the track for 20 minutes between
9:00 and 10:30am. We ask that each student support the PTSO by
securing at least one $5 sponsor for the walk. You can also sign
up adult sponsors to walk the track with us.
Each class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior) will compete
to secure the most sponsorships. Spirit points will be awarded
to each class, with the most going to the class with the highest
percentage of students who secure at least one sponsorship. An
additional Spirit point will be awarded to the class that has
the highest number of adults walking. Spirit Points will be
announced at the Powder Puff Football game on September 30.
Individual students will also be eligible for a prize drawing,
with more chances to win given to the students who secure the
most $5 sponsorships. One chance for 1 sponsorship, 6 chances
for 5 sponsorships and 15 chances for 10 or more sponsorships.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP MAKE SPIRIT WALK A SUCCESS:
The PTSO NEEDS YOU to help make this event a success! If every
student secures just one sponsor, we will raise over $4000 to
support PTSO programs like the Homecoming Tailgate Party, coffee
house, prom, mini grants for teachers, teacher appreciation
events and cultural arts programs. If Spirit Walk is successful,
we all benefit.
˚ Use the attached Sponsorship Form
to sign up sponsors you can sponsor yourself if you want.
˚ Add the names of any parents, family, friends or neighbors
who will walk with us and the day they plan to walk. A
schedule for the walk is posted at www.nighthawksptso.com.
˚ Turn in money and forms every day of Homecoming week,
before school in the Rotunda.
˚ WALK!!!
